Pull up on the right

Pull up on the right

pull up on the right

You could be asked on your driving test to pull up on the right and reverse 2 car lengths, then drie off as normal.

This does contravene the Highway code rule 239 (do not park faceing against the flow of traffic)

However: you will not be parking, just pulling over.

Pulling over to the right

Use your MSM Mirrors - Signal - Manoeuvre  routine as you would for pulling up on the left or for turning right.

  • Interior and right door mirrors (check for overtaking vehicles)
  • Signal if necessary
  • Position as close to the centre of the road as is safe.
  • stop if necessary
  • When safe move to the right side of the road, reasonably close to the curb.
  • Slow your speed right down
  • Stop in a safe place (not obstructing anyone)

Reversing 2 car lengths

Use your POM rouine paying particular attention to any driveways to the right.

when clear:- Reverse very slowly using Clutch - Brake - Gas as necessary(depending on any gradient)

All round observations at all times, Stop at any time if necessary.

Once you've finished, ensure you apply the parking brake (handbrake) and select Neutral.

Pulling away from the right

use the POM routine paying particular attention to the blindspot on the left.

signal if necessary

If you  have a parked vehicle in front of you, move off very slowly endure you can see on coming traffic.
